The Pragmatic Evaluation of Events and Benefits of Lipid-Lowering in Older Adults (PREVENTABLE) trial, one of the largest clinical trials for adults who are 75 years or older, will help us understand if starting a statin, even after age 75, may lower the risk of dementia and increase independence.
You may qualify for the PREVENTABLE trial if you are over the age of 75 and not taking a statin. PREVENTABLE trial results will clarify the roles and benefits of statins to prevent dementia and promote healthy aging in older adults.
