Nicole C. Panarelli, MD, Section Head, Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology, Director, Anatomic Pathology Research, Montefiore Einstein, and Associate Professor, Pathology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, was elected president of the Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society (GIPS) for 2024–2025. She will serve as President-elect until then. GIPS is a leading international community of gastrointestinal pathologists that provides educational opportunities for pathologists and pathologists-in-training.
“Over the last seven years, I am most proud of the progress that we have made in that time to increase the diversity and inclusivity of the Society,” Dr. Panarelli said.
In addition to being a noted leader within the Department of Pathology, Dr. Panarelli is a valued mentor and educator who is passionate about advancing her field.
