You can help researchers learn about correctly diagnosing adrenal insufficiency using newer cortisol lab tests. Adrenal insufficiency is a condition in which the body’s adrenal glands cannot produce enough cortisol.
Your participation will involve a one-hour cosyntropin stimulation test, which is a routine medical test done in doctors’ offices. Researchers will administer a shot into a subject’s arm and measure cortisol levels before and after the injection. If you are 18 years or older, please reach out to us at 718-920-7247 or asajan@montefiore.org to see if you qualify.
