Join Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center (MECC) and experts with our Colorectal Cancer Screening Program during the month of March to promote awareness of the risks of colorectal cancer—and learn how you can help prevent it. Colon cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the United States and disproportionately affects the Black community.
The following Education and Prevention Days in recognition of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month nationwide are open to everyone in our community:
- Saturday, March 18, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Wakefield Campus, 600 East 233rd Street, Endoscopy Suite, 4th floor, Bronx;
- Wednesday, March 22, 11 a.m.–2 p.m., Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care–Westchester (MEAC–Westchester), 555 Taxter Road, Elmsford;
- Friday, March 24, 7 a.m.–4 p.m., New York Gastrointestinal Center (NYGI), Montefiore Einstein Hutchinson Campus, 1200 Waters Place, Bronx; and
- Friday, March 31, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., Moses Campus East Garden, 111 East 210th Street, Bronx. Walk through our “rollin’ colon” and talk to experts about colorectal cancer.
At these events, MECC health experts will help you figure out which type of colorectal cancer screening is best for you. Come, bring a family member or friend. If you can’t make it in person, please call us at 718-920-7183 to learn about next steps and our Colorectal Cancer Screening Program.
